Sailing and Windsurfing
If you want to learn to windsurf here, there is a school in Novo Sancti Petri where you can take lessons. Wind conditions here are perfect for the sport. We also have a large marina. Sailing is very popular here; we often get good conditions and the scenery is spectacular.

Surfing
This is the perfect place to learn to wave surf. We get some nice waves – clean, consistent and safe. There are no real hazards. Body boarding is very popular here too.

The average water temperature is between 14 and 20 degrees Celsius. The wave type is normally beach break or hollow break. Waves come from various directions. The best wind is easterly; it blows against the incoming water, producing clean waves. Ideally, you want to be looking out for a southwesterly swell.

La Barrosa is big; 8kms is a lot of space, so there is always plenty or room to surf.
