How to get to Chiclana by car from Malaga
1. Take highway N-340 towards Benalmádena/Algeciras.
2. Soon after, you should take salida (exit) A-7/E-15 towards Marbella/Algeciras (A-7 is the autopista del Mediterráneo - highway of the Mediterranean).
3. Continue on this highway for about 20 kilometers more until you reach a tollbooth. Here, you will need to pay 5.70 euros to be able to continue ahead on your journey.
4. Continue on highway A-7/E-15. You should pass the city of Marbella.
5. At about 30 kilometers later, you will come to another toll booth in which you will need to pay 3.85 euros to be able to continue along the highway.
6. Continue on highway A-7/E-15 towards Guadiaro/ Algeciras/Cadiz. You should pass the town of Estepona.
7.In another 30 or so kilometers, you will come to yet another tollbooth. Here you will need to pay 2.75 euros to be able to continue along the highway.
8. Continue on highway A-7/E-15 towards Guadiaro/Algeciras/Cadiz for another 20 or so kilometers. You should pass the town of San Roque.
9.Soon after, you will see salida (exit) 110B in direction A-381/Los Barrios/Jerez/Sevilla.
10. Take salida 110B towards A-381/Los Barrios/Jerez/Sevilla.
11. Continue on A-381, until you see salida 24 towards Medina (Oeste) / Paterna.
12. Take salida 24 towards Medina (Oeste)/Paterna.
13. After taking this exit, you will pass a series of roundabouts. In the first roundabout, take the second exit out. In the second roundabout, take the second exit out. In the third roundabout, take the second exit out. In the fourth roundabout, take the first exit out. You should all the while follow signs for Carretera de Medina/A-390.
14. Take the Carretera de Medina/A-390 until you see signs for Autovía del Sur A-48.
15. From this point in highway A-390, you can access the town in four ways:
If you take A-48 towards Cadiz, you can take salida (exit) 3 - Chiclana de la Frontera/Centro Urbano. This will lead you to the city center.
If you take A-48 towards Algeciras you will be able to access different parts of Chiclana by the following exits:
a.Salida 10 (Chiclana de la Frontera/La Barrosa N340a): this is a good exit to take to get to hotels and beaches, including Novo Sancti Petri. Just follow the many signs that point the way to the beach, and as you get closer to the beach, you will see signs pointing the way to hotels. From this exit you also can get to the city center, though you will have to drive a bit and follow the indication signs to get there.
b.Salida 15 (Conil Norte/El Colorado/La Barrosa exits you almost to the border of Conil de la Frontera. If you take this exit, you can also get back to Chiclana by a small local road (N-340). One direction takes you to Chiclana, and the other to Conil (in direction to El Colorado). If you take the way marked ‘El Colorado,’ some meters before entering the small town, you will find a detour that will lead you to Novo Sancti Petri’s beaches and hotels.
Remember that you can access Chiclana without getting on highway A-48. From the highway that you are already on, A-390, you can go straight ahead, and reach the city center of Chiclana.
